Visit from the Official College of Technical Engineers of Valencia to the Puerto de Sagunto Plant
This November, several members of the Official College of Technical Engineers of Valencia visited our Glass Recycling facilities in Puerto de Sagunto, where we manage two work lines: one for Ecovidrio and another for industrial glass. This Valencian plant processes around 48,000 tons of glass per year. The process involves producing cullet—glass free of impurities—which is then melted in a furnace to create new green bottles.
Through both manual and automated processes, the glass waste is inspected to ensure it does not contain materials that could affect its quality, such as plastics, ceramics, stones, or metals.
Recycling is essential for environmental sustainability. Recycling glass not only reduces the consumption of raw materials, but also lowers the energy required to produce new materials, reduces CO₂ emissions, and decreases the amount of waste sent to landfills. Every recycled bottle contributes to a cleaner and healthier planet, demonstrating how small collective actions can have a big impact.
We would like to thank all the members who attended, who were welcomed by fellow member Antonio Rivero, Head of Services. It was a pleasure to host you at the plant.
