Talk on Glass Recycling at La Salle Gran Vía (Zaragoza)

Last Tuesday, January 13th, 2026, manager Carlos Mallen gave an enriching talk to the 2nd-year ESO students in the Assembly Hall of La Salle Gran Vía School (Zaragoza), as part of the Technology subject. During the session, students learned firsthand how glass waste is managed and transformed into technical-use materials, taking as a reference the work carried out by Crismol, the brand of milled and calibrated glass produced by FCC Ámbito. This company, with more than 40 years of experience in glass recycling and recovery, turns waste into high-quality secondary raw material through advanced treatment and classification processes.

Carlos Mallen also explained the multiple applications of CRISMOL®, used in sectors such as construction, landscaping, water filtration, and the chemical industry thanks to its technical properties: high hardness, non-porous structure, scratch resistance, and availability in a wide range of colors that are difficult to achieve with other materials. Students were able to understand how glass recycling helps close its life cycle, reducing environmental impact and promoting a more sustainable economy. The presentation generated great interest among the students, who asked numerous questions about innovation, sustainability, and future professional opportunities in the environmental field.
